A thunderstorm produced hail up to baseball size in Crystal City. The hail destroyed vehicle windshields and windows.
Wider weather episode
An upper level shortwave trough provided lift over the higher terrain in Mexico generating thunderstorms which moved into a warm, moist airmass in South Central Texas. Some of these storms produced large hail.
