Dime to quarter-size hail was reported coating US Highway 62/180 across the state line in Texas.

Wider weather episode

An ejecting shortwave trough out of northern Mexico aided in the development of afternoon thunderstorms across western portions of the region. A few thunderstorms became strong to severe but limited reports were received. Large hail was observed with one thunderstorm.
