Event narrative

Several trees and power poles were blown down in Starkville over a 15 minute period due to strong gradient winds before a line of showers came through, and with the line of showers. A tree fell onto a house and injured one occupant. Two vehicles were damaged by fallen trees. A large rotted tree next to Davis Wade stadium snapped and damaged a few cars.

Wider weather episode

Ahead of showers and storms, gusty gradient winds downed trees. In one case, a tree fell onto a vehicle resulting in a fatality.
