What the National Weather Service wrote

The burst of high winds tracked northward from the Petersburg area and across Frederick Sound. The FAA webcam at Cape Fanshaw measured a max sustained wind of 42 mph at 230pm AKDT (site does not measure gusts).

The wider storm

A shortwave moving around a broader low in the Gulf of Alaska saw an embedded band of convective activity develop with strong cold air advection behind it, which resulted in an area of enhanced winds which tracked northward across the Inside Passage.

Began near Cape Fanshaw (56.8145, -132.9689).
