Event narrative

Numerous trees were downed across the county from the Savannah Lakes Village south to near the Georgia state line on Hwy 28 S. Over 70 trees were downed onto roadways. One tree fell on a vehicle at an unknown location. No reported injuries.

Wider weather episode

A line of severe thunderstorms, aided by some upper energy and deep layer shear, developed over north Georgia and moved SE across the Midlands of SC, during the late day and evening, and produced widespread wind damage. Ahead of this line, isolated thunderstorms, one severe, developed earlier in the afternoon.
