Event narrative

Haines Customs COOP recorded a minimum temperature of 26 degrees the morning of the 4th, included 27 degrees at their 7am observation time. The COOP station in Haines recorded a minimum temperature of 29 degrees, but had warmed above freezing by their 8am observation. The hours of duration were estimated due to a power outage in the area. No impacts were shared.

Wider weather episode

A ridge of high pressure over the eastern Gulf of Alaska, decreasing cloud cover, and light winds during the overnight hours allowed temperatures to fall across the northern panhandle. A frost advisory was in effect and no impacts were shared.
