Event narrative

The COOP at Skagway recorded a minimum temperature of 28 degrees the morning of the 4th, including 29 degrees at their 7am observation time. The hours of duration used were based on nearby automated stations that had observations downtown 32 degrees for a range of 1 to 3 hours. No impacts were shared.

Wider weather episode

A ridge of high pressure over the eastern Gulf of Alaska, decreasing cloud cover, and light winds during the overnight hours allowed temperatures to fall across the northern panhandle. A frost advisory was in effect and no impacts were shared.
