Haines Customs COOP recorded a minimum temperature of 29 degrees the morning of the 5th. RWIS stations in the area recorded temperatures below 32 degrees for approximately 7 hours, including a minimum of 28 degrees at 36 mile Haines Highway. No impacts were shared.

Wider weather episode

A ridge of high pressure over the eastern Gulf of Alaska, cold temperatures aloft, and light winds during the overnight hours allowed temperatures to fall across the northern panhandle. A frost advisory was in effect and no impacts were shared.
