Buoy station at Shell Beach SHBL1 measured a thunderstorm wind gust of 57 mph or 49 knots.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms developed in the evening of May 20th as a typical summertime day was in place. A cluster of storms formed over St. Tammany Parish and quickly surged southward as a small line segment. The line segment made its way into Lake Borgne where it produced winds over 34 knots before quickly weakening over St. Bernard Parish.
