Extreme drought (D3) expanded over the northern half of the county, due to continued below normal rainfall. Chanute airport only recorded 3.5 inches of rainfall for the month, which is 2.12 inches below normal.

Wider weather episode

Extreme to exceptional drought continued across the region, but much rainfall during the month led to some improvement in the drought conditions by the end of the month.
