2023-06-13 · near Eden, Concho, Texas
Event narrative
Public reported quarter size hail.
Wider weather episode
West central Texas was located to the south of a stationary frontal boundary and east of a surface dryline through this time frame. As a result, abundant low level moisture was across the area, along with strong to extreme instability and adequate deep layer shear for severe thunderstorms including supercell storms to develop. Most of the severe storms occurred east of an Abilene to Eden to Menard line during the afternoon and evening hours. The severe storms produce large to very large hail along with isolated damaging winds.
