A 44-year-old male drowned when he was swept away by rip currents in Balneario Cana Gorda in Guanica.

Enhanced trade winds were affecting the local area as a robust tropical wave approaches the region. Seas were locally choppy, but conditions only warranted a low rip current risk along southwestern Puerto Rico.
