Wider weather episode
Southerly flow moving into the Susitna Valley with an upper level trough helped support enough upslope enhancement into terrain with the background forcing and lift to generate moderate to heavy snowfall rates across northern parts of the region from the evening of 4/11 to the morning of 4/12. The highest new snowfall amounts of up to 1.5 feet were focused along the Parks Highway north of Talkeetna.
