An upper-level disturbance brought scattered showers and thunderstorms to portions of eastern New York on June 2, 2023, mainly across areas west of the Hudson River. Some of these thunderstorms became severe producing hail up to around 1 inch in diameter and damaging wind gusts downing trees and wires.
