Event narrative

Two utility poles were damaged at the Navajo Dam from strong winds. This was likely caused by a dry microburst ahead of storms moving in from the west.

Wider weather episode

A line of storms moving across the Four Corners area produced dry microbursts and significant damage at several locations across the Northwest Plateau in northwest NM. The Farmington observing station reported a wind gust of 50 knots or 58 miles per hour on the leading edge of the storms.
