A large tree was blocking the road near the 1400 block of Tarpin Town Rd in Polkton.

A southward moving cold front and an upper-level disturbance over Tennessee and Kentucky led to development of isolated thunderstorms over the southern Piedmont of central North Carolina during the late-afternoon and evening. One storm became severe over Anson county, producing wind damage in Polkton and Peachland.
