Event narrative

Severe Drought conditions were met across northwestern Puerto Rico, due to reservoirs being at observational levels, as well as low streams and dry soils.

Wider weather episode

The lack of significant rains across northwestern Puerto Rico resulted in well below normal streams across the area. Additionally, the Guajataca Basin was at observational levels throughout much of the period. This resulted in the area experiencing Severe Drought (D2) conditions.
