Multiple funnel clouds occurred over the Rolla area. At one point, three funnel clouds were noted occurring simultaneously.

Wider weather episode

Thunderstorms developed in the vicinity of a surface trough that dropped through the area from a low over Manitoba. Initially, multiple funnel clouds were observed in the Rolla area of Rolette County, where at one point three funnels were observed simultaneously. Later, penny sized hail occurred near Rolette, along with a 58 mph wind gust. During the evening hours, nickel sized hail fell in Foster County.
