Event narrative

An estimated 12 inches of snow fell at Sheep Mountain at around 6500ft. Generally amounts less than 8 fell in areas lower in elevation.

Wider weather episode

A cold front moved through eastern Idaho with heavy mountain snowfall and very high winds mainly in the Arco Desert. Gusts over 70 mph were recorded and interstate 15 shut down on the 5th north of Idaho Falls. High mountain locations received over a foot of snow.
