The road was almost washed out and impassable due to flood water at Turner Cemetery Road and JD Smith Trail. The time of damage was based on radar.

Wider weather episode

A mean westerly steering flow pushed a progressive Gulf sea breeze inland and pinned the Atlantic sea breeze between I-95 and the Atlantic coast in the afternoon where explosive convection developed over a very moist and unstable airmass. Additional strong to severe storms developed across SE GA near a meandering surface front, but coverage was limited given drier mean layer moisture.
