As Tropical Storm Harold passed over the Lower Texas coastal waters on August 22nd, this portion of the Laguna Madre saw tropical storm-force winds between 10:24AM CDT and 10:36AM CDT, the time-frame captured by the Texas Coastal Ocean Observing Network (TCOON) site at Rincon del San Jose (RSJT2).

As Tropical Storm Harold moved across the western Gulf of Mexico towards the South Texas Coast on August 22nd, it brought a period of tropical storm force winds and hazardous seas to the lower Texas coastal waters. The strongest winds were reported at the NDBC Buoy 42020, which is in the coastal waters off of Kenedy County in Deep South Texas. The stronger winds were reported at these locations because they were closer to the center of Tropical Storm Harold, which made landfall just before 10AM CDT along the northern coast of Kenedy County on August 22nd. No injuries, fatalities, or damages to vessels have been reported at this time.
