As Tropical Storm Harold passed over the Lower Texas Coastal waters on August 22nd, Buoy 42020 reported sustained winds and frequent gusts to tropical storm-force for a period of nearly 3 hours between 6:50AM CDT and 9:50AM CDT. The max reported gust was recorded at 51 knots at 8:00AM CDT and 8:20AM CDT.

As Tropical Storm Harold moved across the western Gulf of Mexico towards the South Texas Coast on August 22nd, it brought a period of tropical storm force winds and hazardous seas to the lower Texas coastal waters. The strongest winds were reported at the NDBC Buoy 42020, which is in the coastal waters off of Kenedy County in Deep South Texas. The stronger winds were reported at these locations because they were closer to the center of Tropical Storm Harold, which made landfall just before 10AM CDT along the northern coast of Kenedy County on August 22nd. No injuries, fatalities, or damages to vessels have been reported at this time.
