High pressure aloft remained anchored over the southern plains in Late June. On the evening of June 29th, an upper level disturbance, rotating on the northern periphery of the high, triggered thunderstorms across the area. Hail up to 1.5 inches in diameter and thunderstorm wind gusts up to 64 MPH were reported.
