Water Level rises of 1 foot above normal occurred along coastal sections of Outer Banks Hyde county.

Tropical Storm Cristobal skirted the coast of eastern North Carolina on Sunday 7/20/08 resulting in minimal impacts. Storm surge along the coast was up to one foot above normal. Storm total rainfall averaged 1/2 to 1 1/2 inches with isolated heavier amounts of 4 to 6 inches, estimated by Doppler radar across Martin county in the coastal plains on Saturday afternoon, 7/19/08. Tropical storm force winds were only felt across the central offshore coastal waters at the Diamond Shoals Buoy.
