In a 4-6 hour period during the late afternoon and evening hours of June 25th, a large-scale MCS/damaging wind event moved nearly due south, slamming much of north and central Georgia, including the Atlanta metro area. More than 170 storm reports, mainly wind damage were documented across the 96-county forecast area.
