Event narrative
Showers and thunderstorms with heavy rainfall fell in the affected area during the evening hours on July 13. Radar estimates and ground observations show between one and half and three inches of rain fell, leading to a few areas of flash flooding, most notably in the Orwell, VT area where portions of Routes 73 and 22A were impacted by high water.
Wider weather episode
Scattered thunderstorms, some with torrential rainfall affected portions of Addison and Rutland Counties. One to locally four inches of rain fell in a some areas, leading to a few reports of flash flooding and road washouts.
