Event narrative

Severe thunderstorm outflow winds downed multiple trees onto wires in Skowhegan.

Wider weather episode

A back door cold front sagged south across Maine during the day on June 2nd. This surface boundary interacted with a moist and very unstable atmosphere as strong daytime heated occurred before the thunderstorms developed. Thunderstorms developed by early afternoon and moved south through the state into the early evening. Numerous thunderstorms developed but a few storms become severe with convective outflow winds downing trees.
