At the start of the month portions of far northeast South Dakota were already experiencing drought. These areas received ample precipitation during the first two weeks of the month however, with moisture totaling between 150 to 300 percent above climatology. Sisseton, for example, recorded 6.45 inches of moisture for the month, which is 3.84 inches above normal.
