A fairly typical summertime regime was in place with abundant Gulf moisture throughout the atmosphere. As the day progressed, sea breeze boundaries became the focal point for thunderstorm initiation and ample instability enhanced intensity of a few storms that resulted in severe wind gusts and hail.
