Event narrative

A couple trees were blown down by thunderstorm winds on Cascade Drive and Sinking Creek Road.

Wider weather episode

An upper level storm system moved into Virginia late in the evening and with enough instability in place, a few scattered storms developed. One of the storms became severe, producing pockets of damaging winds across the New River Valley.
