Event narrative

Some standing water accumulated on a portion of I-70 as a result of heavy rain from thunderstorms. Radar estimated over an inch of rain fell in 40 minutes.

Wider weather episode

Ample residual moisture lingered across west-central Colorado. This led to another round of diurnally-driven showers and thunderstorms, favoring the mountains along the Divide. Some storms produced heavy rain. One such storm produced localized flooding in a portion of Eagle County.
