What the National Weather Service wrote

Grand Isle measured a peak wind gust of 41 mph or 36 kts from thunderstorm winds.

The wider storm

A stubborn stalled frontal boundary that had been in place for multiple days continued to be the focal point for thunderstorm development. Even though it was night time, thunderstorms over the marine areas were able to maintain strong/severe intensity due to warmer surface water temperatures. This is quite common during the summertime along the Gulf Coast, especially with a frontal boundary in place. A few storms produced severe winds.

Began near Grand Isle Station (gisl1) (29.2600, -89.9600).
