Afternoon heat index values ranged from 114 to 118 degrees. An elderly couple were found deceased in their home in Beeville due to the heat.

The upper level ridge over south Texas weakened by the end of the month. Above normal temperatures and humidity continued into the last week of the month. Afternoon heat index values was around 120 degrees at Kingsville and Corpus Christi on the 25th and 27th.
