A mature waterspout was observed north of the Seven Mile Bridge west of Marathon and relayed through social media. The waterspout was narrow and had an attendant spray ring.

Wider weather episode

A shortwave upper level trough over the Florida Peninsula combined with the lower tropospheric ridge axis to the east-southeast of the Florida Keys promoted a west-southwest flow. This synoptic environment supported the growth of a regenerative convective cloud line east of Big Pine Key through the Florida Bay waters north of Marathon.
