Event narrative
While July did provide some increase in moisture across the area the exceptionally dry conditions leading up to the month pushed the area into extreme drought. By the middle of the month exceptional (D4) drought was declared in these counties. Some marginal improvement was made due to late month thunderstorms, but the month still ended with these counties in (D3) extreme drought. As of now, there have been no widespread impacts from the drought reported.
