WINK-TV relayed viewer reports of waterspout seen off Keewaydin Island, south of Naples.

Southeasterly winds led to plentiful tropical moisture over the region on August 5th. With the available moisture, the Gulf sea breeze and outflow boundaries initiated convection over southwestern FL and Gulf Coast. There were numerous showers and thunderstorms over local waters throughout the late morning and afternoon hours.
