A sharp low pressure trough crossed western New York in the afternoon. Thunderstorms first occurred along the Niagara Frontier lake breeze convergence zone with additional clusters of thunderstorms later across the Finger Lakes to the eastern Lake Ontario region. Multiple reports of wind damage were received. An additional round of thunderstorms crossed the Niagara River later in the evening and produced wind damage near Youngstown.
