Event narrative

There were reports received that multiple large debris slides occurred between Pine Creek and Panther Creek along the Salmon River Road, leading to rescue operations to free stranded motorists. There were also reports of large boulders on the road between Indianola and Spring Creek Campground.

Anomalous moisture and a vigorous shortwave caused a semi-continuous line of thunderstorms that brought heavy rainfall across north-central Idaho.
