Weak warm advection continued to push across Iowa beneath thermal ridging, especially towards northwest Iowa into Minnesota. By evening convection had developed along this gradient. While much of this remained sub-severe and confined to Minnesota, a few isolated storms did develop in northwest Iowa with one resulting in quarter sized hail.
