Event narrative
NWS storm survey found a swath of downburst damage on the grounds of the Ninety Six National Historic Park. Numerous trees were blown down from north-to-south across the park, with the most significant damage observed near the southern boundary. Emergency manager reported some damage that extended to areas just south of the park.
Wider weather episode
Scattered thunderstorms and storm clusters developed along a weak, stalled frontal boundary during the afternoon and evening. A couple of the storms produced brief damaging wind gusts in upstate South Carolina.
