Event narrative

The Mesa Vista AWOS measured 58 mph wind gust from heat burst due to a nearby decaying thunderstorm.

Wider weather episode

Some overnight convection occurred overnight on the 11th into the early AM hours of the 12th. A cluster of storms moved from west to east across the OK Panhandle and the northern TX Panhandle. These thunderstorms did end up producing a couple of wind gusts between 58 and 60 mph in a couple different spots in the Texas Panhandle.
