A cooperative weather observer reported quarter size hail west of Stapleton.

Wider weather episode

A large cluster of thunderstorms merged into a quasi squall line across the Sandhills into central Nebraska during the pre-dawn hours of July 29, resulting in multiple wind damage and high gust reports. A trailing thunderstorm produced additional severe winds in northern Nebraska.
