Event narrative

The Hill Air Force Base AWOS recorded a period of wind gusts to 67 mph between 6:26 pm MST and 6:47 pm MST. These gusts were the result of outflow winds associated with a line of showers and thunderstorms moving through the area.

Wider weather episode

A shift in the atmospheric pattern from mid to late July brought an array of impacts to much of Utah, including severe thunderstorm wind gusts, large hail, and flash flooding.
