Event narrative

The US-189 at Deer Creek Dam mesonet station recorded a wind gust of 62 mph as a result of outflow winds associated with a nearby cluster of showers and thunderstorms moving through the area.

Wider weather episode

Sufficient moisture continued to flow through the region in late July, leading to daytime convection most days. This convection was occasionally strong to severe, yielding localized strong wind gusts in addition to flash flooding.
