Primary focus for initial thunderstorms was toward St. Lawrence Valley as a cold front approached. However, additional thunderstorms developed in the evening to the southeast of Lake Ontario on the southern flank of a strong upper level disturbance crossing the Ottawa Valley. These storms became severe with ample instability and winds aloft. There was a mix of wind and hail reports. Half dollar sized hail was reported over southern portions of Oswego County.
