Event narrative

Lightning struck a home attic in Orange Park during the afternoon which resulted in a fire. Extensive damage occurred to the home and the structure was deemed uninhabitable. The cost of damage was unknown, but it was estimated for inclusion of the event in Storm Data.

Wider weather episode

A weak front extended across SE GA while SW steering flow across NE FL brought a progressive west coast sea breeze inland through the afternoon. The sea breeze merger occurred near the St. Johns River basin and I-95 corridor. A few pulse strong to severe storms produced wind damage.
