Event narrative

Capitol Reef National Park reported flash flooding associated with thunderstorms in the area, which necessitated the closure of several roads in the park, including portions of the Scenic Drive, The Capitol Gorge Road, and Pleasant Creek.

Wider weather episode

The ongoing active pattern lessened somewhat, but enough moisture and support remained to trigger isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms which resulted in a few instances of strong wind gusts and flash flooding.
