Tybee Island lifeguards reported that a family of five had to be rescued from a rip current near the jetty on the North Beach.

The presence of onshore flow enhanced by the sea breeze, elevated swell energy, and breaking wave heights of 2-3 feet combined to produce an enhanced risk of rip currents along the southeast Georgia coast.
