What EF0 means. On the Enhanced Fujita scale, EF0 is light damage: shingles and siding peeled, gutters torn, branches broken, consistent with estimated gusts of 65–85 mph. The rating comes from a survey of the worst damage after the storm, not from a wind measurement, so it says as much about what the tornado hit as about how strong it was.

What the National Weather Service wrote

Landspout tornado was spotted 10 miles north of Cameron, Arizona at 1:50 MDT. Only visible lofted debris was dust. Dissipated within 10 minutes after sighting. Video on Twitter.

The wider storm

The air flow over Arizona slowly transitioned from a west to east trajectory, to more southerly. This was due to a nearly stationary low forming off the western coast of California, which will provided some dynamical forcing. This allowed moisture to move northward from Mexico. Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms formed over the north-central Arizona.

Began near Moenave (36.0200, -111.3900).
