Wind gusts of up to 34 knots (39 MPH) were measured by personal weather stations along the Miles River adjacent to Eastern Bay.

Wider weather episode

Numerous showers and thunderstorms developed along a lee pressure trough after several days of late season heat. Several of these storms produced strong winds and hail over the tidal Potomac River and Chesapeake Bay.
